The other approach to this 'problem' is to let your recipients be responsible adults and allow them to determine how emails are displayed, because the unreadable and 'unprofessional' formatting you seek to 'fix' may very well be exactly what certain recipients prefer. Be aware, however, that attaching a PDF all but guarantees that more of your messages are flagged as spam, and that recipients who practice good IT security hygiene will call you to make sure that the PDF isn't infected. This is precisely why Adobe created the PDF format. If you want to guarantee that a message is displayed in a particular way, you must create a PDF and attach it to an email. The recipient's browser/email client settings determine how text is displayed.
